Call for Artists

Artist Participation

Visual artists in all mediums including, but not limited to, acrylic, oil, watercolor, photography, metal, sculpture, ceramics, and glass are invited to participate in this year’s Downtown Tigard Art Walk. There are two ways artists can participate in this special event. Artists have the option of being included in the Pop-Up Art Gallery or applying to be a Featured Artist.

Downtown Tigard Art Walk 2018 Artist Application

Pop Up Gallery Artist

Artists can apply to contribute art pieces to the Pop-up Art Gallery on Sunday, June 3rd. There is a $10 non-refundable fee to be entered as a Pop-Up Gallery Artist. Commission of 20% will be charged to any art sold.

Featured Artists

Artists can apply to be a Featured Artist. Featured Artists will be paired with a local business that will display pieces of art two weeks prior to the Downtown Tigard Art Walk. These art pieces will be included in a juried contest with a cash prize. Featured Artists will be hosted on Friday evening, June 1st, from 4:00PM-7:00PM by their local business at a “Meet the Artists” event. Snacks & refreshments will be provided at each location.

On Saturday, June 2nd, artists will set up an area in front or near their paired local business. There they will create an art piece live during Artists in Action. Artists are welcome to sell any additional art pieces during this time as well. Artists must provide their own tent and any additional display materials for their area. Featured Artists may also participate in the pop up gallery on Sunday, June 3rd (commission of 20% will be charged to any art sold at the Pop-Up Art Gallery). There is a $30 non-refundable fee to enter as a featured artist.

Proceeds from the Tigard Art Walk are used to support the event, by covering the juried contest prize money, publicity, and additional event costs.

Event:

Downtown Tigard’s Annual Art Walk invites artists and residents to meet on Main Street and explore the creative side of Tigard. A key component of this special event is the participation of artists who want to bring their talent out of the studio and gallery and on to the street.

Purpose:

Art can be an important component in revitalizing a downtown area. The purpose of the Downtown Tigard Art Walk is to bring together community and commerce and raise awareness of and celebrate local artists. Proceeds from the Tigard Art Walk are used to support the event, by covering the juried contest prize money, publicity, and additional event costs.

Duration:

Featured artists will display up to three art pieces in a downtown Tigard business from May 21st through June 3rd.
Meet the Artists, Friday, June 1st from 4:00PM-7:00PM
Artists in Action, Saturday, June 2nd from 10:00AM-3:00PM
Pop-Up Art Gallery, Sunday, June 3rd from 9:00AM-1:30PM
